As a common smart gadget in modern homes, sensor night lights bring great convenience to our lives. They automatically illuminate in darkness and turn off when light is sufficient, saving energy and effectively preventing bumps and accidents during nighttime activities.
The core of a sensor night light lies in its two main sensing technologies: light sensors and infrared sensors.
The light sensor, also known as a photoresistor, is the "eye" of the night light, determining ambient brightness. Its resistance changes with ambient light. When ambient light is bright, the resistance of the photoresistor decreases; when ambient light is dim or even pitch black, the resistance increases. The control chip of the sensor night light detects this change in resistance to determine whether to activate the subsequent sensing function. When the ambient light is bright enough, the night light will not illuminate even if someone passes by, thus achieving energy conservation.
Infrared sensors are generally referred to as passive infrared sensors (PIR). They sense infrared heat emitted by objects and determine whether a moving "heat source" is approaching. The human body is a continuous infrared source. When someone enters the sensor night light's detection range, the infrared sensor detects this change in heat and sends a signal to the control chip.
The induction night light cleverly combines a light sensor with an infrared sensor to achieve the intelligent "light only when needed" function. This design not only enhances the user experience but also meets the modern pursuit of energy conservation and environmental protection. From bedside to hallway, staircase to closet, sensor night lights can be used in a variety of scenarios, making nighttime life safer and more convenient.
